The Clitheroe Contemporary Open Exhibition 2023 is open to amateur, professional and student fine artists to enter. Submit work to be selected to feature in this multi venue exhibition in Clitheroe. Whether you are already a professional exhibiting in galleries or a talented amateur looking to show your work for the first time this is a great opportunity to exhibit at the first Clitheroe Contemporary Festival.

The Clitheroe Contemporary Open Exhibition 2023 is open to amateur, professional and student fine artists. From age 11 +

Any type of fine art can be submitted

Work can be:
2D up to a max. of 180cm (H) and must be mirror plated,
3D pieces up to a max. of 80cm (H) x 80cm (W) x 30cm(D).

Each applicant may submit up to a total of two works, all of which may or may not be selected, as display space is limited. Work submitted must be available from 1st June – 18th June. 2D work must be mirror plated as some of the galleries are un-staffed public spaces.

Pieces cannot be substituted after being selected. We reserve the right not to display work, which has been damaged in transit, is not professionally mounted/presented or does not meet expectations of quality on arrival.

Apply online by the deadline of the 22nd May fill in the form and upload your JPEG images. A selection panel will view all the applications digitally on the 24th May from the images you upload, not the actual pieces, entrants will be notified on 25th May of their success.

The price you state on the entry form must be the wholesale/artist price (without commission) This is so that we know the value for insurance purposes whether for sale or not.

A 25% commission will be added to all prices to be submitted and all artists must agree that for any sales the 25% commission will be taken by Clitheroe Contemporary festival for use in supporting local artist and art events in the area.

All successful applicants will then pay an entry fee, £10 if you live outside the borough, £5 if you are a Ribble Valley resident, FREE if you are a Ribble Valley resident student age 11 – 25. This is a single fee, whether you have 1 or 2 artworks accepted.

24th May – Selection panel
25th May – All entrants will be notified by email of the panel’s decisions
25th – 31st May – Successful entrants pay for entry
1st – 4th June – Artists Drop off selected artworks
9th – 11th June – Exhibition Open to the public
11th June – Winners announcement 2pm venue TBC
15th – 18th June – Artists collect unsold work
